Martha’s Madeira and Bias Shaped Table Runner
Tailored embellishment techniques and an elegant cream-on-white color scheme create a sophisticated image for this table runner. Bias shaping defines a center motif, and a Madeira appliqué border finishes the look. Linen is the perfect fabric for this home décor project, and it will make a beautiful addition to your home, or that of someone lucky enough to receive it as a gift! |
Martha's Rag Quilt
This is the ultimate easy quilt! Layered fabric blocks are pieced together with exposed seams then laundered to fray the fabric edges. The result is a fluffy, cozy quilt that is great when you need an extra layer to keep out the chill. This is a quick and easy, no-fail project! The finished quilt is 50” wide and 55” long. |

Martha Pullen Serger I
Basic serger techniques make this versatile quilt very easy to piece and construct. Each block is pieced from fabric strips, then the blocks are alternately placed either horizontally or vertically, creating interest and movement in the design. Once the blocks are stitched together to make the center panel, the borders can be added in just a little time. Finishing and binding the quilt are also easily accomplished. Choose colors and fabric types to work with any décor.

Two layers of beautiful embroidered edging are easily transformed into this elegant heirloom. The exquisite embroidery on the edging eliminates the need for any further embellishment. The embroidery finishes the front edge, so the only construction requirements are a back casing and center back seam. Narrow silk satin ribbon runs through the casing, and wider ribbons tie a bow at the front. This tiny bonnet is sweet and elegant, perfect for gift-giving or special occasions.
Decorative as well as functional, this is a perfect gift project. Pretty fashion fabric is used on the outside; serger chain stitch creates a grid design and attaches the front to a layer of padding. Exposed zippers are inserted into the flannel lining by serger to create six roomy pockets. The front is attached to the lining with piping inserted between the layers, and an attached, elasticized band wraps around to secure the roll for storage.

Those precious little bundles of joy can make some pretty big messes, and this cover-up will help to protect her best outfits. With padding on the inside for absorbent functionality, the outside is purely decorative. Bands of embroidered insertion are connected with a strip of bridging that is laced with silk satin ribbon; lace insertion borders the center panel and ruffled lace edges the bib. Self-fabric ties are made using a binder attachment and a cover stitch or chain stitch.

Cotton print ruffles, pockets and trims will help you create a backpack that can go anywhere - school field trips, trips to the zoo or shopping with her favorite seamstress!
Add interest to basic garments by using color boldly. Define an outfit by placing a print that demands attention at the neck, waist and hem; and then, fill in the ensemble with coordinating prints that won't compete with your primary fabric.
Nothing says “heirloom” more than a beautiful hand-smocked bishop dress. Several sleeve finishes will allow you to customize this dress to fit any occasion. The easy elastic loops on the dress back create a beautiful closure.

Layered bias trims emphasis the clean silhouette of an A-line jumper. Use color and decorative bias - such as a picot-edged variation - to draw attention to a pattern's simplicity; satin ribbon to soften the design.
You'll have a hard time getting any little girl out of these adorable pajamas! Embellish softas-butter baby knit base fabric with spaghetti bias shaped into a flower. The technique is so easy! Pair the top with cotton gingham cropped pants to match, and she'll never argue about bedtime!
